UnitedHealthcare: Vital Medication Program Included for Renewing Groups
UnitedHealthcare is pleased to announced that its Vital Medication Program will be included for renewing 1/1/23 groups, and after.
UnitedHealthcare is taking an important step in its continued efforts to make prescription drugs more affordable by eliminating out-of-pocket costs (copays and deductibles) for preferred, rapid- , short- and long-acting insulins, as well as the following preferred vital-use drugs that are critical in maintaining the health of its members:

Member letters will not be sent out, but members will notice the change at point of sale starting in January. Provider tools like PreCheck MyScript will highlight the $0 cost share at the point of prescribing and on the online member portal on myUHC.com.

- Epinephrine — allergic reactions
- Glucagon — hypoglycemia
- Naloxone — opioid overuse
- Albuterol — asthma
